‘Blood Relations’ Win UN Award

Last year I wrote about ‘Blood Relations’, a campaign which brought together Israelis and Palestinians to donate blood. Blood from Israelis was donated to Palestinian hospital patients and vice-versa making this an extremely symbolic gesture.

Last week at the New York International Advertising Festival Awards the United Nations awarded our Israel agency, BBR Saatchi & Saatchi, the gold medal for its efforts to end the conflict between Israel and Palestine through its blood relations campaign. Our client is The Peres Center For Peace. To be recognized this way by the United Nations is a tremendous achievement and I’m proud of Yossi Lubaton and his team. To tackle an issue like this, and to be able to make a difference, is inspirational.

Hi Kevin,

Great and inspiring speech today in Madrid, made my day!

There is a great Spanish writer from early 20th century, almost a philosopher, who played an inspiring role for writers and poets such as Lorca, his name is Miguel de Unamuno

There is also a popular sentence in Spanish culture that says: The razones vive el hombre (We live on rationality)

Unamuno transformed that sentence and made a great slogan for all of us: De razones vive el hombre, de sueños sobrevive (We live on rationality, we survive on dreams)

Thanks for remind me of that today!

Hi Kevin,

On a day like today (Nov 16th), a day with the BBC headline "Gaza crisis: Israel air strikes hit Hamas HQ", I've come back to the "Blood Relations" video and post to try to find some hope for the Middle East.

Regards,
Kempton
